The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an ongoing National Fellowship in Basic Sciences programme, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, with the goal of attracting exceptionally bright students to pursue basic science courses and a career in science research. This exam is designed specifically for school pupils who want to get started as soon as possible.

The aptitude test does not have a set curriculum. The purpose of the aptitude exam is to assess a student’s comprehension and analytical abilities in relation to their factual knowledge.
Students are tested for the syllabus up to class X/XII/1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc./M.S., as appropriate, up to class X/XII/1st year of B.Sc./B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc./M.S.
